Here I talk about all kinds of stuff. About things that are happening in my personal life and of course about great tools that helped me.

Guestbook Entries

I was implementing my new SSI knowledge to my German writen site and while checking the links I also clicked on my guestbook link.

I was really pleased to see so many entries, but when I took a closer look, I was more than dissapointed.

All but one were in English telling me how great my site was and how much it made them think (about what I wonder). Or refered of my entering their guestbook though I am not aware that I did so.

Then I moved the mouse over the little house that symbols the homepage - no no no! I did not click any of them. I believe they are either phony or dangerous! And because I don't want any legit visitors of mine click on a link like that and get her computer infected I did the only thing I could do:

I deleted all of them!

I wonder what's use of those entries. They spend a lot of time searching for guestbooks, enter some strange stuff, probably copy-paste ... for what? What purpose does that serve? I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was always the same person.

Well, it does not take long for me to delete them :-)

Have you checked your guestbook lately? Any phoney or strange entries?

SSI is a time and life safer

Being a member at MomMasterMinds I keep learning news stuff. For instance: SSI.

The first time I heard about it I thought that I could not use it for my webdesigns, that was maybe half a year ago.

The second time, last month or so, I stumpled over it again. This time I took a closer look and sorta had a vision. I saw suddenly that SSI could save me a lot of time because I keep changing and adding stuff to navigation. Which means uploading maybe a lot of pages.

But I also use for sitemaps on each page or newsletter sign up boxes.
For my current webdesign customer I use 3 SSIs. It's really a time safer and I'm glad I took a second look. I am one by one reworking my own sites. It's a lot of work but I know in the long run it'll safe me a lot of time.

So, even if you said at first it's not for you. Take another close look, put any prejudice aside and let your imagination work for you. You might be surprised - I was!
So, off to add more SSI!

Clutter Clearing

Last Sunday I read a book "Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui". I have read other Feng Shui books before but this one spoke to me.

This morning I cleared the space behind the door to my home office. Now, I can open the door again :-)
There are still boxes and stuff but a lot less.

This afternoon I cleared out two shelfs and almost filled the box for the recycle paper to the rimm.

I wonder which aera I will go after next :-)

Bagle Worm Alert

Hi, it's Xarah from SarNetwork :-)

Here's some breaking news for you:

A new variant of the Bagle e-mail worm has been spreading quickly on the Internet since Monday. It's called W32/Bagle.aq@MM and it infects your PC by fooling you into opening a ZIP-file email attachment.

Both the name of the attachment and the body of the message are a variant on "price" or "new price."

So don't open any ZIP files that you receive by email unless you are certain of what they contain!

I have already received one of those but since owning Mailwasher Pro I realized that it was one of those fake mails. I call them fake mails because it was my sender address. Would I send myself a ZIP file? I guess not :-)

Have safe emails today!

Virus Alert

VIRUS NEWS: The fake Bin Laden suicide file, when opened, unleashes a Trojan horse that allows attackers to take over infected PCs running the Windows OS. Watch out for this file and do not open it. Spread the word to friends because the press has not done a good job of alerting the world to it.

The new variant of the Bagle virus, W32/Bagle.af@MM is a mass-mailing worm that tries to open a backdoor on an infected PC, giving hackers remote access to the computer. The worm spreads itself by emailing your contacts and by using popular file-sharing applications such as KaZaa, Bearshare and Limewire. W32/Bagle.af@MM also attempts to shut down anti-virus and firewall software running on infected machines.

Get the Mailwasher and never download infected emails anymore. Be safe:

Can I do this?

So, this is my first attempt on a blog. I suppose I will come with stuff to talk about for I like to write. For now, this is a test, see how it's going.
You're welcome to add your comments.
